How long does a divorce typically take in Malaysia?

An uncontested divorce, where both parties agree on terms, can be finalised in around three to six months through the courts. A contested matter may take longer depending on the complexity. We will give you a realistic indication once we understand your specific circumstances.

How are custody and access arrangements decided?

Malaysian courts consider the welfare of the child as the paramount concern. Factors such as the child's age, existing relationships, and practical living arrangements all play a part. We help you present your situation clearly, and where both parents can agree, we can help put that agreement into a legally recognised form without going to court.
